Hearing Loss Risk Factor Screening

Screening Results

Risk factor screening for Permanent Hearing Loss (PHL) is offered for babies by the Infant Hearing Program (IHP) at the time a baby’s hearing screen is performed, or when it is booked. Results of the risk factor screen for PHL will be available about 1-2 weeks later. Results will be routinely sent to the IHP, but can also be requested from Newborn Screening Ontario.

This section of the website provides information about what types of results a parent or legal guardian might expect from risk factor screening. It also provides information about how to access a baby’s results.
