Ontario has five Regional Treatment Centres located at the Pediatric Academic Health Sciences Centres where specialist physicians and services are available for the diagnosis and treatment of screen positive babies. NSO also has a partnership with Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre who are responsible for infants born in North-Western Ontario. NSO physicians usually refer screen positive babies to specialists at the closest regional treatment centre for follow-up; however, in some cases NSO staff work directly with health care providers and families to arrange follow-up care. In most regions, referrals for all target diseases are sent to a single centre (noted below); personnel there can direct you to specific clinics if needed.
